Description

This double-sided, four-fold colour reference chart shows transparent colours on one side and opaque colours on the other. Keep it at your workbench for easy colour comparison, or order two copies to display both sides on a wall at the same time.

Transparent
Each transparent colour includes five tests. From left to right, they are:
•sifted directly onto copper;
•sifted over clear enamel on copper;
•sifted onto Foundation White 1030;
•one coat sifted onto a fine-silver dome;
•a plique-à-jour sample, in a blackened copper ring.

Opaque
Each Opaque tile shows four results produced at different firing temperatures. From top to bottom, they are:
•Over-fired: 1500°F (816°C), heated at full speed and held for 1'45" to 2'30"
•Fully Fused: 1450–1500°F (788–816°C)
•Orange Peel: 1425–1475°F (774–802°C)
•Sugar: 1415–1450°F (768–788°C)

These tiles were fired in an electric kiln. Please note that these test tiles are provided for reference only. Results may vary depending on kiln condition and setup, handling methods, enamel thickness, production batch, and the dimensions of the metal substrate. These factors can influence the firing temperature and final appearance. I strongly recommend conducting your own tests before applying the enamel to a finished piece.
