Use this activated carbon to embed metal clay pieces for firing. Coconut-shell–based carbon produces a light patina color on your pieces. To prepare the carbon for use, place it inside the container, cover with the lid and fire for 30 minutes at 1,550°F.

please note:
Use a firing pan to hold both carbon and pieces to be fired. Fire COPPRclay only in coconut shell–based carbon; do not fire it in the coal-based acid-washed carbon.
