Traditional garnet derives its rich color from iron and magnesium. Garnet exhibits few inclusions. Those inclusions that are present tend to be rounded, seedlike crystals with irregular edges.
please note:
• Care: Clean with warm, soapy water; never clean using steam or ultrasonics.
• This stone is suitable for firing in place in silver PMC3 using the schedule with the lowest-temperature settings.
• Red garnets are often almandine garnets but may also be pyrope garnets or a mixture of almandine and pyrope garnets. Both of these varieties of garnet are characterized by a rich red color. They are difficult to distinguish, and we do not attempt to separate them by type.
