This red garnet teardrop briolette features larg step-cut facets on the top and smaller triangle facets on the bottom—when light hits the pavilion, the reflection radiates up through the briolette, giving it an attractive light-catching quality that looks great when used in pendants, drops and earrings. Vertically half-drilled, it is ideal for use with a mounting style that includes a peg, such as earrings. Use jeweler's epoxy to secure the briolette on a peg.
Traditional red garnet derives its deep color from iron and magnesium.
please note:
• Bead sizes and hole sizes are approximate and may vary slightly from bead to bead.
• Red garnets are often almandine garnets but may also be pyrope garnets or a mixture of almandine and pyrope garnets. Both of these varieties of garnet are characterized by a rich red color. They are difficult to distinguish, and we do not attempt to separate them by type.
