Description
This 1/2-hard, 14-karat yellow gold round wire, the bread-&-butter of jewelry making, is ideal for creating components and for a wide variety of techniques. Metal that is 1/2-hard is partially work-hardened and will hold its shape under some stress; ideal for forming structures that will support other components. To avoid annealing, use this material only after soldering processes. Keep in mind that hardness is changeable (by annealing or heat-hardening) and is relative among metal types (each temper will feel and handle differently from one metal to another). When finishing your pieces, also keep in mind that the harder the metal is, the brighter a finish it will take.
